Another successful event!

So we had yet another successful fundraising event. This time it was collecting money at Le Faubourgh for Denim Day. Two of our team members (Tara and Brenda) manned tables for a couple of hours and accepted donations and sold some of our handmade items. Julie’s flower pens were a hit! Very happy with the result.

We’ve now officially passed the $1000 mark with our fundraising! Still a long way from our $12,000 goal but we still haven’t had our big fundraisers yet. Coming up: garage sales, car washes, more craft sales, even a poker tournament! And our biggest fundraiser yet will be in September… More details to come on all the events once they become available. In the meanwhile, please donate! You can donate to me or to Mel by following the links on the right hand side. Or check out my handmade jewelry (great items at great prices!! :-) ) by following the link on the left hand side. Thanks for your support!

Validation!

The craft sale was a success! The traffic through Centennial wasn’t that high, but considering that and the type of sale it was (it was actually more of a bazarre rather than a craft sale), we did pretty well. It was the first time that I had attempted to sell my items to people other than family and friends so to have many people tell me that they liked what I made and to actually buy things was the validation I needed to continue doing this. More importantly, we raised another few hundred dollars towards breast cancer research. Yay! We’re just about a $100 away from raising our first $1000 through fundraising activities which is great.

Our next activity will be collecting money on the third floor of Le faubourgh on St. Catherine street in downtown Montreal. A couple of members from our team will be there from 11 am to 2 pm on Denim Day (May 15). Be sure to drop by during your lunch break to support our team!

Check out the pictures from the craft sale below. And click on “Karen’s Handmade Items” on the left to see pictures of some of my jewelry.

It’s a sale!

Time for our latest fundraising event… a craft sale! For the past few weeks my friends and I have been working diligently to make items that we can sell in order to raise money for breast cancer.  And we have great stuff: handmade necklaces, bracelets, key chains, cell phone charms, magnets, flower pens, photo albums… The list goes on! All in time for Mother’s Day :-) All items make great Mother’s Day gifts, additions to a gift already bought, or a treat for yourself :-) And, as always, all profits will go towards breast cancer research.

For those who are interested in passing by, here’s the info:

Date: May 12, 2007

Time: 8 am to 3 pm

Where: Centennial Regional High School, 880 Hudson, Greenfield Park, Quebec

I hope to see a lot of people there!! Will let you know how the sale goes next week…
